Truancy

Truancy was a pretty wild project. As far as I can tell somebody conned somebody else into buying a bunch of Pocket PCs and decided to make me write a program for them. I had to deal with a disconnected database with locked records sitting on a central server and distributed in sections on each Pocket PC. These were used in the field to track information on kids skipping out on school. I dumped a poor performing C# and XML solution for a small and quick embedded VB and Pocket Access solution.

Unfortunately I can only show you screenshots of the PC side of the program. This was the basic Windows interface I made.
A truant officer could save an Access database right on to their Pocket PC.
Or they could upload a database back for merging with the central database.
